Chris Loughlin
Chief Executive Officer

Chris Loughlin joined BrainCheck as CEO in October 2024. 

From March 2020 to October 2024, he served as Managing Partner at Pixiu Investments, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas. From February 2016 to March 2020, Chris was CEO of Digital Pharmacist, a patient engagement platform for pharmacies. During his tenure, the business scaled from fewer than 200 pharmacies and under $1 million in ARR to more than 7,500 pharmacies, millions of patients, and over $20 million in ARR. Digital Pharmacist was acquired by K1 Investment Management in December 2018.

From September 2001 to December 2015, Chris held a series of senior leadership roles at Travelzoo (NASDAQ: TZOO), where he helped develop the company’s core products and revenue streams and founded and scaled its European business. Serving as CEO for five and a half years, he led Travelzoo to more than $160 million in revenue and met or exceeded Street expectations in 20 of 22 quarters. Under his leadership, the company grew to approximately 600 employees, expanded to 26 offices worldwide, reached 30 million global subscribers, and was recognized on Crain’s list of Best Places to Work.

Chris holds a BSc (Honors) in Technology Management from Staffordshire University, an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business focused on entrepreneurship and strategy, and an MBA from Columbia Business School focused on finance.

He is active in the Austin community and has served as Board Chair of YPO Austin. Chris has also served on the National Leadership Board of the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Kent School in Connecticut, where he attended as an ESU scholar. His recognitions include Young Entrepreneur of the Year from Barclays Commercial and “Most Likely to Challenge the Status Quo” from UC Berkeley Haas alumni.

Chris is married to Kathleen Irvin Loughlin, an Austin-based philanthropist focused on women in the arts and a Tony Award–winning producer. They have two children. With a family history of Alzheimer’s disease, Chris is personally motivated to build products that have a meaningful and positive impact on patients and families.

Mary Patterson
Vice President of Clinical Operations

Mary Patterson is a clinical and operational leader with over a decade of experience advancing medical technologies through clinical research and regulatory strategy. She brings deep expertise in neuroscience, Alzheimer’s disease, and neurovascular research, and has led large-scale Phase I–IV IDE and IND clinical trials through FDA premarket pathways, including Breakthrough Device designation, as well as 510(k) clearance and CE Mark approval. Her work has included collaboration with global industry partners such as Stryker Neurovascular, Cerenovus, Genentech, and Medtronic.

She holds a B.A. in Neuroscience from Ohio University, magna cum laude, and an M.S. in Aging and Neuroscience from the University of South Florida, magna cum laude.

Molly Penna
Vice President of Customer Success

Molly Penna is a dynamic leader with over 10 years of experience in healthcare, strategy, and technology. Since joining BrainCheck in 2021, she has led the company’s expansion into national and regional healthcare systems. Her efforts have transformed the implementation of cognitive health solutions in fee-for-service and value-based-care medical institutions. She spearheaded key initiatives like the first EHR integration with Epic and engaged with hospital executive leaders and clinicians to ensure successful adoption. Molly streamlines customer success processes and retention strategies, ensuring solutions align with go-to-market initiatives and business development goals.

Before BrainCheck, Molly led healthcare strategy projects, development of custom technology platforms, and advised local nonprofits through pro bono engagements at Deloitte. Molly holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering with minors in Mathematics & Military Science from the University of Miami, graduating magna cum laude and serving as President of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.

Molly is passionate about transforming healthcare through technology, empowering providers with innovative tools to improve patient outcomes.

Judd Rabb
Chief Financial Officer

Judd Rabb, CPA, is a seasoned financial executive with extensive experience driving strategic growth and operational excellence in technology start-ups and high-growth companies. He has held key leadership roles at companies such as OJO Labs, Digital Pharmacist, Main Street Hub, SolarBridge Technologies, BazaarVoice and Silicon Laboratories, where he supported over $175 million in venture capital financings, $85 million in private debt transactions, and three IPOs raising over $465 million.

Judd’s expertise spans M&A, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and scaling operations through effective systems and team development. A results-driven leader, he has played pivotal roles in transactions exceeding $800 million, bringing disciplined financial stewardship and strategic insight to every organization he serves. Judd was named CFO of the Year by the Austin Business Journal, and was a founding member of the FASB’s Private Company Financial Reporting Committee. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Accounting and a CPA in the State of Texas.

Bassel Samman
Chief Technology Officer & Chief Information Security Officer

Bassel Samman is the Chief Technology Officer at BrainCheck, where he leads engineering, infrastructure, and security strategy to support the company's mission of delivering best-in-class digital cognitive assessment tools. Since joining BrainCheck in 2015, he has been a key driver of platform scale, reliability, and technical execution across the organization. He is overseeing software development, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and long-term technical roadmap.

With over two decades of experience, Bassel has built and operated cloud-first systems across enterprise environments, with deep expertise in scalable architecture, cloud migration, and compliance-focused engineering. Prior to BrainCheck, he held engineering roles including Software Engineer at Rackspace, where he helped integrate cloud management systems and expand enterprise support across major cloud providers. He has also served as an enterprise technology consultant focused on cost optimization, automation, and regulated compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, and FDA-related programs), and earlier co-founded Business Performance Associates while leading development teams building mission-critical software platforms.

Bassel holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is based in Houston.

Robert Terrell
Vice President of Product Development

Robert Terrell is a product leader with more than 17 years of healthcare technology experience building integrated, HIPAA-compliant digital health ecosystems that connect patients, care partners, pharmacists, and physicians to improve engagement and health outcomes. As Vice President of Product Development at BrainCheck, Robert defines and advances the company’s product strategy, aligns key stakeholders around a clear roadmap, drives innovation into commercially viable offerings, and leads efforts to integrate BrainCheck into EHR workflows.

Previously, Robert drove patient engagement and pharmacy technology solutions, including bi-directional integrations with 50+ pharmacy management systems and enterprise-scale partnerships supporting tens of thousands of pharmacies and tens of millions of patients.

Robert earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, graduating summa cum laude and recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of the B.I. Moody III College of Business. He is passionate about using technology to reduce operational burden for care teams while helping patients better manage their health.

 

Elaine Cannizzaro
Vice President of Operations

Elaine Cannizzaroto is a seasoned healthcare operations executive with more than 25 years of experience driving innovation and growth for early- and mid-stage companies. With deep expertise across tech-enabled health services, patient engagement, and clinical sales, she is known for building and scaling operational teams and programs that improve patient outcomes while increasing efficiency. At BrainCheck, Elaine applies this background to help strengthen and scale the operational foundation needed to support sustainable growth and high-quality care delivery.

Prior to BrainCheck, Elaine served as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Iris Healthcare, where she oversaw a nationwide, large-scale telehealth advance care planning program for older adults with complex medical needs. Before Iris, she spent 10 years at Vital Decisions, joining early and helping build the organization as it scaled. Over that time, she led and expanded teams, developed training and onboarding programs, managed quality, and supported growth to more than 200 employees across four offices. Across her career, Elaine has successfully led large, distributed teams of clinical and non-clinical staff in telehealth settings.

Elaine is motivated by making a meaningful difference in healthcare and tackling complex challenges with the goal of making care easier and better for patients and their families.

Elaine holds a B.A. in Communication from William Paterson University and an M.A. in Psychology and Counseling from Goddard College.

Andrew Chen
Vice President of Product

Andrew Chen is Vice President of Product at BrainCheck with 25 years of experience spanning healthcare technology, product development, and technical consulting (including hands-on software development). He is responsible for delivering a stealth, technology-enabled program—leading day-to-day product execution and partnering closely with engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams to move from prototype to pilot to scalable rollout.

Since joining BrainCheck, Andrew has focused on building the program’s core experience and the operational “rails” required to run it reliably in real-world clinical settings. Early impact includes initial success with practices piloting the program, validating key workflows, and creating tight feedback loops to iterate quickly and improve results.

Before BrainCheck, Andrew co-founded Iris Healthcare and served as Chief Product Officer, building a tech-enabled care model from the ground up. After Iris was acquired by Aledade, he served as VP of Product, helping scale the service and supporting systems to tens of thousands of patients annually. Andrew is most energized by new models of care—prototyping, piloting, testing, and refining until they’re clinically meaningful and operationally scalable.

He is based in Austin, Texas, and earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

Danielle Yoon
Head of Marketing

Danielle Yoon is a marketing leader with over 9 years of experience in software and healthcare technology. As Head of Marketing at BrainCheck, she drives go-to-market strategy, builds demand generation programs, and strengthens BrainCheck’s positioning to accelerate adoption of its cognitive health solutions across health systems, providers, and partners.

Before BrainCheck, Danielle led marketing for a digital pharmacy solutions company focused on driving patient engagement, then brought that experience to a continuous improvement software company helping enterprise organizations engage more people around improvement for faster, higher-impact change. Across both roles, she built and oversaw demand generation and full-funnel programs designed to increase user adoption and create sustained product demand.

Danielle earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications with a minor in Psychology from Boston University, graduating cum laude.
